EDITORIAL: Outbreak! Infecting Our Constitutional Freedoms

These are dangerous times we live in and not just because of the Wuhan Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the damage this pandemic has done to our economy. My concern is our freedoms have been intruded upon in the name of “medical necessity,” for a virus which to date has been less lethal than reported, in fact, even less lethal than the common flu. To date, Americans have been subjected to self-quarantine, were dangerously close, for the second election in a row, to having Bernie Sanders, a self-professed Democrat Socialist as the Democrat Party Candidate for President, and we have had many Constitutional freedoms challenged along the way. It appears our freedom, or illusion of freedom, is about to come crumbling down, one way or another if the Democrat Party takes over the Presidency.
Is Joe Biden a legitimate Presidential candidate? He is, after all, the Democrats “choice.” Biden can barely complete a coherent thought and he has a deer-in-the-headlight gaze that must concern many, he is irritable, forgetful, and by all accounts, appears to be early onset dementia to many. It seems unfair to subject a man, any man, in his condition to the rigors of a Presidential race and if he ends up in a debate against President Donald J. Trump, it will be an utter disaster. What is the real purpose of elevating him to the top of the Democrat nominees to be their candidate? That is the question that needs answering, and it is scary to consider their real agenda.

Lately, it seems as if the Democrat Party and the media propaganda machine has been pushing Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York as a prima donna in the public eye. In reality, and if the media was doing their job, Governor Cuomo should be painted as the disaster he is. His fear mongering and lack of preparation has led to many deaths due to COVID-19 and directly to the spread of the disease in his native New York which is at the very least a show of horrible leadership and quite possibly at worst, criminal. The media and Democrats have made him their darling so Governor Cuomo not only gets a pass, he may very well be on Biden’s ticket as Vice President, time will tell. This adds to the darkness in our country that has plagued us since the media decided to shift to propaganda over truth.

What is most frightening to me and should be to all Americans is that we live in an era where the media not only fails to report the truth, they intentionally create a distraction in favor of promoting a leftist agenda. The media is supposed to be the watchdog for the public through unbiased accurate reporting of newsworthy events, regardless of their own personal agenda. This age of political propaganda, coupled with the liberal indoctrination from elementary through college, has certainly created a climate of young adults with a pre-programmed agenda that is anti-American, anti-God, anti-Constitution anti-freedom, anti-conservative, and pro-socialism, pro-liberal controlled speech and eventually, pro-One World Government.

We have an obligation as members of the media to report the truth and to hold politicians accountable when they fail to perform their duties, if we fail to do this, there will be a time soon where the minority becomes the majority and the American way of doing things will be a part of the past. The quarantining, either voluntary or forced, because of COVID-19 may have in theory saved many lives, but it opened a pandoras box of ways to violate our Constitutional freedoms and that is a dangerous precedent.

What COVID-19 exposed was our weakness as a society when the power of Government is exploited. If the wrong person is sitting in the Oval Office, this pandemic would have proven the demise of our life and economy as we know it. The strength of President Trump and his administration in policy and leadership leading up to this pandemic saved our country, had this pandemic occurred under the Barack Obama administration of which Joe Biden served as Vice-President, the results would have been devastating in my opinion. Elections are this November, choose wisely.
